- The U.S.DOT/Maritime Administrations hereby invites bids for the purchase of the following vessels for the limited purpose of re-use of the vessels for commercial pursuit in accordance with and pursuant to Section 508 of the Merchant Marine Act, 1936, as amended, (46 App. U.S.C. 1158), and upon the terms and conditions set forth in the form of Contract available from the contact person listed below: the ALATNA T-AOG-81 Tanker, the CHATAHOOCHEE T-AOG-82 Tanker and the NODAWAY T-AOG-78. All located in Tsuneishi, Japan. Bids will be received until 2:30 p.m., local time, Tuesday October 24, 2006, and a public bid opening will be held at that time in the offices of the Maritime Administration (MARAD), Department of Transportation, 400 Seventh Street, SW, Washington, DC, 20590 to announce the apparent winning bid. All bids and supporting documentation are subject to verification prior to the certification of the apparent winning bid.
