Description
The Marine Corps Systems Command, Program Manager for Ammunition (PM Ammo), Quantico, VA intends to award a Sole Source Firm Fixed-Priced contract to IBM Sales Center Dallas, Copell TX, for IBM computer hardware/software services and maintenance in support of the following computer components: 1)Rack Mount Tape Subsystem; Machine 3490, Model E11, S/N B1244, 2) Rack Enclosure; Machine 9309, Model 002, S/N 72528, 3) Disk Array Subsystem; Machine 9337, Model 240, S/N 19278, 4) System Unit; Machine 9406; Model 500, S/N 25318, 5) Magstar Magnetic Tape Subsystem; Machine 3570; Model C01, S/N 56285, and 6) Infowindow Monochrome Monitor; Machine 3476; Model BA3, S/N ZY395. These systems are an integral portion of the MAARS II Inventory Control Point system developed by PM Ammo to perform all management functions for Marine Corps owned ammunition assets worldwide. These systems must be maintained to provide real-time data on 7 days a week, 24 hours a day basis without interruption. IBM Sales Center Dallas has been providing these services to PM Ammo for a period of 2 years and this procurement is considered a follow-on contract for the continued provision of highly specialized services. The North American Industry Classification (NAICS) Code is 33411 Electronic Computer Manufacturing. All contractors who provide goods/services to the DoD must be registered in the Central Contractor Register (CCR). This notice is not a request for competitive proposals and no solicitation is available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to meet the requirements by submitting a white paper, technical data for the item, and past performance data no later than 12 September 2006 to Commanding General, Marine Corps Systems Command, Attn: Code PMM 2041, 2200 Lester St., Quantico, VA 22134. Responses received by 12 September 2006 will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open basis is solely within the discretion of the Government. Refer to Numbered Note 22.
