Description
The government is seeking sources for procurement and installation of simulated ship on land at Camp Lejeune NC. The ship on land would be used for training Marines in all vessel boarding search and seizure tactics, techniques and procedures. The assembly of the ship on land is anticipated to use a quantity of shipping containers modified to replicate a control room, berthing areas, passageways and limited engineering spaces. It must be at least three levels high and contain ladder wells, ladders, water-tight hatches, knee-knockers, simulated overhead piping and wires as are common on commercial and military ships. The entry point into the ship on land would be on the second level to be accessed using a removable exterior ladder or gangplank. Exterior areas must have guard rails and line handling equipment, cargo handling equipment, all to create realistic shipboard obstacles for the training force. The first level must have a simulated helicopter landing pad. It must have a public address system to replicate sounds associated with shipboard life. Both red and white light illumination is required in all spaces and must be capable of being powered by generator. The upper level must have communications antennae and radar dishes as are common on ships. The training system must be modular for possible expansion in the future. This training system will not be used for live fire. The award will be approximately $240,000 with an anticipated delivery date of 90 days after contract award. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. It should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the US Government to issue a solicitation. Any information provided to the Government in response to this RFI will become USMC property and will not be returned. All proprietary or classified information will be treated appropriately. Written response is requested within 15 days after publication of this notice. No phone calls will be accepted.
