When operational the facility will be capable of turning 34 metric tons of weapon-grade plutonium in MOX fuel (pellets for reactor fuel assemblies) for use in commercial nuclear power reactors. The purpose of this Request for Proposals will be to award a competitive Firm Fixed Price Subcontract for ?Release 1 of CP-20? The order of magnitude for Release 1 is $40-$80 Million. NOTE: General excavation and rough grading will have been completed. Most of the sub grade preparation including the proof rolling of the building footprint will have been completed. Approximately half of the placement of the engineered fill, including most of the engineered fill under the manufacturing structure will have been installed.
