Description
USAMRAA intends to make a sole source award to Screening for Mental Health Inc. They are the only known organization that provides a complete suite of assessment instruments that have been specifically evaluated for population-based screening, scori ng, and referral. (Tools validated for clinical use are not the same as those validated for population-based use.) Unique characteristics for military uses, including the psychometric data from their instruments, have been published in the professional lit erature and have been applied to millions of community members further validating the usefulness of the data produced. The depression scale was validated through original research by Harvard Medical School and published in professional literature. They have been the only known organization to provide broad-based mental health assessment tools and training for the conduct of National Depression (copyrighted), Mental Health, and Alcohol Screening Days across the nation since 1991; which military insta llations have been participating in since inception. They have unique expertise in developing, disseminating and training screening staff on a nationwide basis in the proper conduct of national depression and alcohol screening day events. They are the only known organization to provide an evidence-based youth suicide prevention program in the nation, compatible with military health care operations. Numbered Note 22 applies. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; proposals are not being requested.
