Description

Notice of Intent to award a Sole Source Procurement. The Government intends to issue a sole-source acquisition to provide contractor logistic support (CLS) to support the MAWS201MP Meteorological Observing System to VAISALA, INC , 10 D GILL ST , WOBURN , MA 01801-1721 . No other contractor is capable of providing this service due to lack of knowledge base as well as the unique proprietary ability to service said items. Vaisala is the sole provider of these items, which are currently maintained under warranty through 30 September 2006. The Government now requires extending the warranty for one year and this will become a recurring requirement. The 55th Contracting Squadron intends to award a Firm Fixed Price purchase order by other than full and open competition in accordance with Subpart 6.302-1 (a)(2)(ii). Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This notice is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination not to compete this proposed procurement was made because Vaisala is the manufacturer of the equipment and is currently the only known company to provide the require logistic support. The procurement of this turn up and must be completed in a timely manner in order to meet mission requirements. Questions should be directed to SSgt Andrew L.
