Description
The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify interested contractors with manufacturing capabilities and to develop procurement data for solicitation of the MK84 Fin Assembly. The MK84 Fin Assembly attaches to the aft end of a 2000 pound, BLU-109 , MK84 General Purpose or BDU-56 Practice Bomb with eight set screws. Specialized skills required are welding, heat treating, machining and metal forming. The MK84 Fin is approximately 49.09 inches long, 125.32 inches in diameter and weighs approximately 114 pounds. The MK84 Fin Assembly is fabricated from steel alloys, cut, formed, machined assembled and welded to drawing requirements. Outer surfaces are powder coated in accordance with Navy specifications. There are no planned requirements for the MK 84 Fin Assembly at this time; however, in the event requirements should materialize, the anticipated acquisition strategy is a 100% Small Business Set Aside, Best Value solicitation based on a one to three year IDIQ (Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantit y) type contract. Contractors interested in manufacturing this item must be registered in data bases: Central Contractor Registration (CCR) and U.S. and Canada Joint Certification Program (JCP) to be eligible to submit an offer on a resulting procurement. This sources sought is for planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a request for proposal or as an obligation on the part of the Government. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this sources sought or otherwise pay for information solicited. Responses to this notification should include company name and address, company size, cage code and a brief description of manufacturing capabilities and experience. Contractors should also provide a Minimum Procurement Qua ntity (MPQ) and minimum monthly deliveries and a Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) for the MPQ.
