- DESCRIPTION: This special notice supersedes previous FedBizOpps notice no. VA-SNOTE-060830-001 which is hereby cancelled. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION ANNOUNCEMENT. THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT Notice Only. This Sources Sought Notice is seeking to identify vendors to provide Transcription Services using Government-provided Management information system (Dictaphone I-Chart). Vendor shall provide all the necessary supplies, labor, and equipment to provide transcription services. It is anticipated that approximately 100 percent of this requirement shall be processed using speech recognition technology. The Cleveland VA Medical Center, Patient Care Administrative Services shall post their transcription requirements to their Management Information System via I-Chart. The transcription provider shall then transcribe the medical report and import said reports using the Dictaphone system into the Cleveland VA Medical Center data management system. Vendor must provide documentation of qualifications and experience in working with Dictaphone/I-Chart Enterprise Express Voice, Text, and Speech recognition system and be able to meet security/HIPAA requirements. Responses to this notice should include company name, address, point of contact, Cage Code, size of business pursuant to North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) and must respond to the following questions: (1) Is your business a large or small business? (2) If small, does your firm qualify as a small, emerging business, or a small, disadvantaged business? (3) If disadvantaged, specify under which disadvantaged group and is your firm certified under Section 8(a) of the Small Business Act? (4) Is your firm a certified "hub zone" firm? (5) Is your firm a woman-owned or operated business? (6) Is your firm a certified Service-Disabled Veteran Owned and Veteran-Owned? This is not a request for proposals and in no way obligates the Government to award any contract. Responses to this notice shall be mailed or faxed to the attention of Nan cy Phares, Contracting Specialist, Department of Veterans Affairs, Cleveland VA Medical Center 90C, 10000 Brecksville Road, Brecksville, OH 44039, Fax (440) 838-6052. Telephone and/or e-mail responses will not be accepted. Responses must be received in writing no later than 2:00 p.m. on September 7, 2006. Firms responding to this announcement which fail to provide all of the required information cannot be used to help the Government make the acquisition decisions which is the intent of this synopsis. This notice is to help the VA in determining potential sources only. No solicitation is currently available. All firms responding to this sources sought notice are advised that their response to this notice is not a request to be considered for a contract award. If a solicitation is issued, it will be announced later in the FedBizOpps and all interested parties must respond to that solicitation announcement separately from the responses to this announcement. A response to this sources sought synopsis is NOT a request to be added to a prospective bidders list or to receive a copy of the solicitation.
