- The National Institutes of Health (NIH) National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD has a requirement for the Nurse Continuing Education Program on Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) Risk Reduction from SIDS Alliance, 1314 Bedford Ave., Ste 210, Baltimore, MD 21208. SIDS Alliance is a national nonprofit health organization uniting parents, caregivers and researchers nationwide with government, business and community service groups to advance infant health and survival. With help from more than 50 local members and partner organizations, they work to increase public participation and support in the fight against infant mortality. Their mission is to promote infant health and survival during the prenatal period through two years of age through programs of advocacy, education and research, while at the same time providing compassionate grief support to those affected by an infant death. SIDS Alliance has been a co-sponsor of the NICHD-led Back to Sleep campaign since inception in 1994 and has worked with the NICHD to support educational outreach activities in campaign-related activities. SIDS Alliance shall attend 10 or more national, regional and state-level nursing conferences/meetings to conduct training sessions and promote the Nurse Continuing Education Program on SIDS risk reduction using NICHD materials. State and regional conference/meetings and meeting will be based on SIDS and infant mortality data. To the best of the Government?s knowledge the proposed contractor is the only known source that can provide the components that are needed. Interested vendors may identify in writing their interest with a capability statement to the Contracting Office prior to the closing date of this notice. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government.In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set-Aside. It is anticipated that the Request for Quotation (RFQ) NIH-NIDDK-06-1048 will be available fifteen (1510) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due ten (105) days after the release of the RFQ. The anticipated award date is September 26, 2006.
