- Description
- Questions for Solicitation VA-549-06-RP-0005 will not be accepted after the Close of Business (COB) on Septebmer 7, 2006. Questions and answers: On Sheet 0.01 they show the bar joist to be fire rated using gyp board as listed in UL Design P519. However they show the steel beams to be sprayed with fireproofing as listed in UL design S717. If UL Design P519 is used it should provide the fire rating needed for the steel beams as well. Please clarify what members are intended to receive sprayed fireproofing and what members are to be protected by gyp board. Structural members to be sprayed and to have gypsum board The corner guards listed on the finish schedule are Flush Mounted; however the interior elevations only show them a 2? high. Flush Mounted corner guards are usually in full height applications. It would be better to stop the handrail and crash rail before the corner and use end caps, and install a 4? Surface Mounted Corner Guard at the corners. Reason: the Outside corners of the handrail and crash rail as currently drawn will be susceptible to abuse. The higher corner guard will be able to withstand abuse better. All corner guards to be surface mounted Model number SM-10 by CS GROUP ACROVYN. Omit the specification shown on sheet A1.05 Drawing A104 has a note in room A0-4-?hand rail/crash rail? typical all walls?. Is the intention to have hard rail and crash rail on all walls in the patient rooms? Typical room will only have bumper bed rail ref to sheet A1.05 no hand rails and crash rails should be included in resident rooms. Corner guards are indicated as ?CG? on drawings; however, there is also a note that indicates corner guards typical all outside corners. Should we include corner guards for every outside corner? Will the Corner Guards in patient rooms be a different height if so what height is required? Corner guards to be as shown on sheet A1.05 We cannot locate the interior elevation that shows the length of the Bed Locator. What is the desired length? 6?-0? (3?-0? From center of bed to each side) Is there a difference between BB1, BB2 and BB3 (different colors). Yes Colors match room color scheme as shown on A1.05. Rigid sheet- .040 is this required 4? high down every hallway and in every patient room as is shown on the elevations? Yes. Ref to Typical elevations for corridors and resident rooms shown on sheet A2.01 Kick plates and door frame protection is indicated on the specifications and finish legend ? none is shown on the drawings. Is there door protection needed on this project? Kick plates to be provided only at the corridor doors ref to sheets A1.01 for location, A2.01 and A1.05 ?Material legend? for specification. Sheet A2.01 ?Door types? ?E? provides dimensions for the kick plates. Omit ?stainless steel ?specification listed on this sheet. Push plates are not to be used in this project. There is no specification on Cubicle Curtains? Is this product required? Owner to provide not in the scope of work
