Description

The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Portland, Oregon, has a requirement to conduct a systematic ground inventory of previously unsurveyed Bureau of Land Management administered lands near the Air Force's Juniper Butte Range to document slickspot habitat and new locations of Lepidium papilliferum (slickspot peppergrass) for use in future conservation and management of the species. Habitat information including evidence of recent fire, fire rehabilitation activities, and livestock use would also be collected at each slickspot. Deliverable products associated with this inventory would be both hard copy and electronic versions of a survey report, including GIS information, to be submitted to the Snake River Fish and Wildlife Office and the Mountain Home Air Force Base. Completed Rare Plant Observation Reports will be submitted to the Idaho Department of Fish and Game, Idaho Conservation Data Center for any previously undescribed Lepidiu papilliferum locations. Information gathered will be used for conservation and management of this plant species.
