Description
Notice of intent to award a sole source contract to Alaska Moving Image Preservation Association (AMIPA), Consortium Library, 3211 Providence Drive, Anchorage, AK 99508. AMIPA will perform a Collection Condition Survey (CCS) on the National Park's film footage from the Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks in Alaska and produce a Collection Condition Survey (CCS) report for the NPS's video museum collection. Under authority of FAR 6.302-1(c), the value of the contract is expected to be under $500,000. The National Park Service has a need for a comprehensive CCS to establish a baseline of the Parks Video collection to preserve this medium for future generation of visitor's to the National Parks in Alaska. Once the baseline is established AMIPA will convert copies of deteriorating video to capture what is left of the current collection in a digital format. Video that has not showed signs of deterioration shall not be copied but recommendations from AMIPA will guide Park Service Personnel on how to properly re-house this video to preserve it from deteriorating. This Notice of Intent is not a request for Expressions of Interest (EOIs), proposals or quotations. No solicitation document exists and no telephone inquiries will be accepted. No contract award will be made on the basis of EOIs, proposals or quotations received in response to this notice. These supply items will be procured under Firm Fixed Price Supplies in accordance with FAR 12 procedures and Other Than Full and Open Competition as authorized under FAR 6.302-1. GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Alaska Moving Preservation Association (AMIPA) shall conduct a detailed Collection Condition Survey (CCS) of the National Parks video collection from both Katmai and Lake Clark National Parks. Upon completion of the CCS AMIPA shall produce a detailed report of the results found during the survey. Video found that has started to deteriorate shall be converted to digital format for preservation purposes. Clips that are in stable condition shall be re-housed at the NPS, Alaska Region Headquarters with recommendations from AMIPA.
