Description
The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division Newport intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Contract on a Sole Source basis to GVS-Grande Vitesse Inc., 390 Fremond St., San Francisco, CA 94105-9275 for nine (9) each of the GVS9000 Power Mac G5 computers. These computers are required to support the CLUSTER REVERB Program. They will be incorporated into deployable REVERB systems as well as be used for spare parts. The GVS9000 computer is the only make/model computer that meets the requirements of the CLUSTER REVERB Program. The Government plans to issue a request for written quote to GVS-Grande Vitesse, Inc. using FAR Part 12 and FAR Part 13. The anticipated award date is 22 September 2006. This action is being processed on a Sole Source basis due to the fact that use of a different make and model computer other than the GVS9000 would require a revision to the Technical Data Packages that are are required for installation of CLUSTER REVERB on board deploying boats. The TDP (Technical Data Package) is a blueprint of the REVERB system and includes electrical connections between internal REVERB system components and ship?s components. Additionally specific GVS9000 operational capabilities are included REVERB Operation and Maintenance Manuals that have already been developed; use of a different make/model computer would require a second version of these manuals. This synopsis is being posted to both the Federal Business Opportunities(FBO) page located at http://www.fbo.gov and the Navy Electronic Commerce on Line(NECO) site located at https://www.neco.navy.mil. While it is understood that FBO is the single point of entry for posting of synopsis and solicitations to the internet, NECO is the alternative in case FBO is unavailable. Please feel free to use either site to access information posted by the Navy Sea Systems Command. Our department no longer issues solicitations or amendments in paper form. Instead, they may be accessed at our web site http://www.npt.nuwc.navy.mil/contract/. We also provide electronic access in our Bid Room.
