- Description
- The purpose of this amendment is to provide answers to questions received from potential offerors: 1. Q. Will the selected WM system vendor(s) be permitted to attend and participate in the actual fire testing of the COTS system? A. They will be encouraged to attend. 2. Q. Will the vendor be involved in the installation and positioning of the nozzles in the test mock-up and pre-testing of the WM system? A. It is important that the vendor be involved in all aspects of the installation and testing. 3. Q. Does the proposal pricing cover only the price of nozzle hardware and installation data or should it also include for the supply of high pressure pump/motor units and motor controller? A. SHADWELL currently has several high pressure pumps and systems. It is the Navy’s intention to make this available to the vendor if it meets their requirements. If the vendor feels the Navy equipment will bias their test, then the vendor should propose their pump and distribution system with a rationale as to why the Navy system will not meet their requirements. 4. Q. Will the Piping take the pressure of 100 bar? A. The piping will take the pressure (100 bar), but the flanges will not. In order for the offeror to use the current system with their pump, they would have to change out the flanges. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (17-AUG-2006).
