- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format prescribed in Subpart 12.6 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the request for quote for the required item under N0016106RCFZ195. A subsequent solicitation document will not be issued. FISC Norfolk intends to purchase the following item(s) Award will be based on the lowest price offer. Contractor must have an active registration in the Central Contractor Registry to receive award. Contractors who are interested in this requirement can email Evelyn Jenkins at evelyn.jenkins@navy.mil to obtain the graphics of the desired areas of the 3D models. Response to this solicitation is due by 10:30AM 18September 2006. Offers can be emailed to Evelyn Jenkins at evelyn.jenkins@navy.mil. Reference N0016106RCFZ195 on your proposal. Please quote FOB Destination to Annapolis, MD 21402. Required Delivery Date: 18 October 2006. At a minimum, responsible sources shall provide the following: a price proposal which identifies the requested item, with its unit price, extended price, total price, prompt payment terms, delivery time remittance address, Tax I.D. #, Duns #, and Cage Code. The U.S. Naval Academy Oceanography Department desires a quantity of one each three-dimensional solid terrain models of Monterey Bay and Chesapeake Bay for educational purposes. These models should be similar in quality to those displayed in the National Geographic Museum Explorer?s Hall in Washington D.C. (see examples at http://www.solidterrainmodeling.com/NGS_gallery.htm ), with LANDSAT satellite imagery depicted over the land areas, and bathymetric depths depicted in shades of blue (darker shades with increasing depth. Each of these model domains should represent approximately 45 nautical miles / 82 km per side, and should be depicted using a 1:100,000 horizontal scale (for an actual size of 32 inches on each side of the model). Approximate geographic limits are as follows: Monterey Bay model: Northern boundary = 37 09 N Southern boundary = 36 24 N Eastern boundary = 121 40 W Western boundary = 122 31. Chesapeake Bay model: Northern boundary = 39 37 N Southern boundary = 38 45 N Eastern boundary = 075 43 W Western boundary = 076 42 W Cost estimates for these models should include 2D and 3D virtual views. North American Classification System (NAICS) Code is 541370. Size standard is 500 employees. The required delivery date is 18 October 2006.
