Description
The U. S. Research Development and Engineering Command (RDECOM)- Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC), Picatinny, NJ, 07806- 5000, is currently seeking qualified sources to manufacture triple-base M31A2 propellant. The 155mm Modular Artillery Charge System(MACS)comprises two propelling charges: the M231 charges for zones one and two, and the M232A1 charges for zones three or higher. The M31A2 is the 7-perforated cylindrical granular triple-base propellant for the M232A1 propelling charge. The M31A2 propellant has a FY 07 supplemental requirement with three priced options ??? one option for each of the subsequent years from FY 08 through FY 10. The government intends to award a basic contract for the FY07 supplemental buy with one option for each year from FY08 through FY10. The first production lot is due 180 days after award of contract which is anticipated to be in CY07. A lot of M31A2 propellant consists of approximately 400K lbs. Subsequent lots are due every 45 days. Deliverables shall be as follows: Basic = approximately 1M lbs; Each Option = approximately 2M lbs. The contractor should have applicable experience in efforts of similar production quantities as shown in delivery schedule and large storage capacity as well as meet ballistic requirements of the M232A1 ballistic firing tables. Firms with experience in the areas cited above should submit literature /brochures not exceeding 20 pages describing a summary of their company capability including a description of facility, personnel and past experience to meet this procurement???s requirements. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP), and is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. The Government does not imply an intention or opportunity to acquire funding to support current or future development efforts. If a formal solicitation is generated at a later date, a solicitation notice will be published. No award will be made as a result of this Market Survey. All information is to be submitted at no cost or obligation to the Government. The Government reserves the right to reject, in whole or in part, any private sector input as a result of this market survey. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. Please submit your responses no later than 22 September 2006. This acquisition is limited to Expro Tec. See Note 22.
