- The US Army ARDEC is conducting a market survey to identify potential sources for a mil dot reticle spotting scope per the following initial requirements: (1) Variable Power Magnification 12-40X60mm (2) Mil Dot Reticle with 10 mil coverage in both vertical and horizontal (3) Aspect ratio of reticle and image remain constant throughout the entire zoom range (4) Female threads on the objective lens assembly per the following: 2.5625-48 UNS 2.549 +/- .002 Diameter Pitch 2.54 +/- .002 Diameter MINOR (5) Total length not to exceed 12 inches (6) Total maximum width, including attachment lug, not to exceed 5 inches (7) Rugged and corrosion resistant (8) Maximum weight of 40 ounces (9) Minimum operating temperature range of -25??F to 140??F (10) Water tight down to 3 feet (11) 1/4X20 attachment lug. The spotting scope must be sold on the commercial market and ready for immediate delivery starting one month after a possible contract award. The estimated quantity that may be required by the government is 1,545; the required delivery rate estimate is 315 per month. This Market Survey is for information and planning purposes only, and does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP). This Market Survey is not to be construed as a commitment by the U. S. Government. Respondents will not be notified of the results of this survey or results of information submitted. The government requests that responses be given within two (2) weeks.
