Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Philadelphia District intends to solicit and award on an unrestricted basis under the authority of FAR 12 and 13 for a commercial procurement of all necessary material, equipment and labor to install a Public Address System onboard the Dredge McFarland. The new PA System shall be integrated into the existing general emergency alarm system onboard the Dredge MCFARLAND. The integration of the two systems will allow the flexibility of voice communications or general e mergency alarm tones over a single distributed system. The new system will include the installation of all of the new cabling necessary to accommodate the new equipment while reutilizing all of the existing cabling to the existing general emergency alarm equipment to the maximum extent possible. The system shall be integrated through a new PA central control panel with the general emergency alarm and shall be used for transmission of orders/information throughout the vessel by means of microphones and lou dspeakers. The central control panel shall control communications and alarming functions from the navigating bridge. All work shall be performed during several lay periods when the Dredge is docked at Ft. Mifflin. A Request for Quote (RFQ) will be issue d on or about 13 September 2006 and the closing date for receipt of quote will be 3 October 2006. The intent is to issue a firm fixed price purchase order to a firm who presents the best value to the government. There will be two (2) technical factors: Product and Past Performance/Experience. The government will award a contract resulting from the solicitation to the responsible offeror whose quote conforming to the solicitation will be most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors consi dered.
