- Description
- REPAIR SECTIONALIZING STATION D This project replaces an existing 15KV, 1200A metal clad outdoor switchgear station which consists of ten 1200A vacuum circuit breakers arranged in eight switchgear sections with a new 15 KV, 2000A metal clad outdoor switchgear station consisting of ten 1200A vacuum circuit breakers and two 2000A vacuum circuit breakers arranged in eight switchgear sections. The new switchgear will be installed on the same footprint as the old switchgear. Existing feeder cables will be reconnected to the new switchgear except for two three phase cables which must be pulled back to an adjacent manhole and then rerouted to the new switchgear through existing conduits. A new two duct ductbank will be installed from an existing manhole to the switchgear for two new 15KV feeder circuits. The new switchgear will include new SEL 351 digital relays for protection, metering and communications and a SEL 2032 communications processor which will connect to an existing Ethernet switch cabinet which is to be reinstalled on the new switchgear. The existing switchgear has SEL351 relays. The contractor will install relay settings and programming obtained from the existing relays and communication processor to the new relays and communications processor and test the new equipment to confirm its operation. Testing is to include confirmation of proper communication between the new station and the existing base wide SCADA system. The time period for the power outage to remove the existing switchgear and install the new and restore power is limited to 72 hours which will be scheduled for a holiday weekend. This switchgear serves critical industrial loads and the outage time cannot be extended, therefore the contractor must have adequate resources to accomplish this task in the allotted time. The contractor must possess a valid North Carolina Public Utility - Electrical, contractor's license and be insured to do such work in the state of North Carolina.
