- The Postal Service is seeking Qualification Statements from general construction contractors wishing to be pre-qualified for a fixed-price contract to renovate existing space for the Newport-Stanton Branch Post Office, located at 1704 West Newport Pike in Wilmington, Delaware. The work includes demolition and renovation of approximately 10,000 square feet of unoccupied space, including interior finishes, casework and Postal equipment, in accordance with USPS approved plans and specifications. Primary factors to be considered for prequalification are company background, past performance, experience, financial stability, capacity to perform, and safety. Qualification Statements will be evaluated by qualified personnel selected by a USPS contracting officer. All firms will be notified within 60 days of receipt of their Qualification Statement as to prequalification status. Firms selected as being the most qualified for each project will be placed on the prequalification list. A Request for Proposals will be issued to pre-qualified firms at a later date. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: To be considered for prequalification, the firm must (1) possess applicable license, as required by the state, for this type of work; (2) have been in business for a minimum of five consecutive years and (3) have ongoing or completed two comparable projects within the past five years. Comparable projects are defined as similar in scope and construction cost that exceeds $1,000,000.
