- Purpose of this amendment to the solicitation is to provide clarifying information, in response to prospective offerors’ questions. The information contained herein will be incorporated into any resulting contract and/or order. 2. The proposal due date/time remains 14 September 2006, 4 pm. QUESTION: Is the 100-User Reference Kit stated in the specification the same as the 100-User Training Kit in the Vocera price list? ANSWER: That is correct, 100-User Training Kit. 100-User Vocera Training Kit (contains 100 Quick Reference Guides, 10 ea. Mini-User Guide and Super-User Pin, 5 ea of the Command Poster, Badge Management Poster, and 2 Vocera End-User Training DVD) Regarding non-Vocera hardware/software items and administrative items: 1. QUESTION: Has the wireless infrastructure at the VA hospital been designed for voice communications? If so, is the make/model and software version of the equipment on the Vocera qualified list? ANSWER: The wireless infrastructure was recently designed and installed by a Cisco Gold Partner for voice, video and data. And the equipment is on the Vocera qualified list. 2. QUESTION: Has the VA had its wireless infrastructure verified for a Vocera deployment? If so, will the VA make its verification report available to the successful bidder? ANSWER: The wireless infrastructure was not verified for Vocera deployment. 3. In order to correctly size the Professional Services associated with the Vocera deployment it is necessary to find out the following - a. QUESTION: Will the VA make nursing and IT managers available for clinical workshops, workflow determination and data gathering for contiguous scheduled appointments? ANSWER: Yes b. QUESTION: How many individuals will need to be trained? ANSWER: User Training for up to 180 staff (on-site session = 45 users per day) - 4 days System Admin Training for 5 staff (on-site session = 5 people per day) -3 days to cover all the servers Train-the-Trainer Training for up to 36 staff (on-site session = 12 people for 1 day) -3 days c. QUESTION: What departments are these individuals in? ANSWER: Nursing, Pharmacy and IT d. QUESTION: Can the training be conducted during normal business hours or will training during evening, night and weekends be necessary. If so, please quantify those who are to be trained during the day, evening, night and weekend. ANSWER: Normal Business Hours e. QUESTION: What is the mix of staff that will be trained - English as a first language vs. English as a second, third or fourth language? ANSWER: Do not know at this time, all training will be done in English. f. QUESTION: How many trainers, super users and system administrators are to be trained? ANSWER: User Training for up to 180 staff (on-site session = 45 users per day) - 4 days System Admin Training for 5 staff (on-site session = 5 people per day) -3 days to cover all the servers Train-the-Trainer Training for up to 36 staff (on-site session = 12 people for 1 day) -3 days Page 3 of 3 pages g. QUESTION: Can one assume that the training can be conducted on contiguous days without a break? ANSWER: Yes, expect for holidays and weekends. 4. QUESTION: You are purchasing the Vocera Messaging Interface. Will you separately acquire the Emergen Gateway or does your Nurse Call System interface directly with Vocera? Is assisting with the integration and testing a part of the Professional Services to be bid? ANSWER: Emergin Gateway will be acquired separately as a future purchase and no integration or testing for the Emergin system is required for this quote. 5. QUESTION: Does the VA have a preference for a particular make/model of server? ANSWER: No. 6. QUESTION: Does the VA require a tower or a rack-mount server? ANSWER: Tower servers 7. QUESTION: Will the VA provide Microsoft Windows 2003 Server licenses or is the bidder to include the licenses as part of the server price? ANSWER: Servers are to be turnkeyed. 8. QUESTION: What is the expected award date and the implementation timeframe? ANSWER: We would like to award this contract by 20 September 2006, with delivery/implementation as soon as the winning contractor is able. 9. QUESTION: Is completing online representations and certifications (orca.bpn.gov) sufficient or do you require that the certification be manually completed and attached to the RFQ? ANSWER: Online reps/certs are sufficient.
