- Description
- This is an amendment to the combined synopsis/solicitation. Response date has been extended to 15 September 2006, 3pm Alaska Time. 1. Who is the manufacturer of the standing seam panel? I?d like a profile of the seam itself to see if our clamps are compatible: Action Manufacturing, Riddle and Company is the manufacturer. As described in the specifics, the profile of the seam itself is as follows: The first five buildings listed (Pole Barn, Warehouse, New Bunkhouse, 4-plex Garage, 4-Plex): "Roofs are to be covered by Snowbar system with "U BRACKETs" with penetrations, Hidden fasteners, ribs are (1 1/2"w x 1 3/4" h) 9 1/2 "o.c. " For Residence 1 and Residence 2: "Roofs to be covered by Snoblox, Snojax, or Icejax System: Norclad, exposed fasteners. Major ribs are 9" o.c. (1 3/4"w x 3/4" h): 2 minor ribs are (1 1/4" w x 1/8 "h) between the majors. 2. The first five buildings are single side (Pole Barn, Warehouse, New Bunkhouse, 4-plex Garage, and 4-plex). In other words, snow retention needs to occur on one side of the two sided roof. The last two buildings (Residence 1 and Residence 2) are double side (both sides of the roof will need snow retention equipment). The Panel width identified for each building in the prospectus is the total width of material needed for each building. In other words, for the Pole Barn, a roof width of 75' indicates that a total of 75' needs snow retention. Because a snobar needs to be installed approximately 18 inches above the eve, and midspan between the eve and ridge, 75' x 2 lengths of snowbar = 150 feet of snobar (brackets, etc) are needed for this roof. 3. Are we to design the layout of these bars based on a 90psf. snow load @ a 4:12 pitch? Or, does the spec show only one row of SNOBAR? The design snow load for these buildings is 100 psf. The roof pitch is 4:12 for 6 buildings, and 3:12 for 1 building (4-plex). The prospectus is requiring two rows of SNOBAR per side of roof. The location the SNOBAR is to be installed is approximately 18" above the eve on each roof and midspan between the eve and peak or ridge. If the panel length is 20' (measured eve to ridge) then midspan for the application of this roof would be 10'. 4. The two (2) residences that have exposed fasteners, are they to be painted or supplied as a bare stainless steel? The two residences that have exposed fasteners are to be painted to match the roof color. 5. What kind of substrate do these two (2) buildings have (purlins/plywood)? I need this to determine fastener size and type. The substrate for residence 1 and residence 2 is plywood. The plywood is 5/8" thick.
