- THE PURPOSE OF THIS AMENDMENT IS TO CHANGE THE PROPSAL DUE DATE TO 18 SEP 06 AT 4:30 PM EST, TO ADD QUESTIONS FROM THE SITE VISIT, AND TO ADD THE STATMENT OF WORK. 1. Q: Does the contractor need to store existing shelves? A: NO. 2. Q: Do you want more shelves for the new cages from the contractor? A: NO. 3. Q: Do new cages need clothes rack? A: YES. The dimensions are 7ft 3in off the ground; 1ft out from the cage; 5ft long; the pole is 3in. in diameter. The location of the rack is inside the cage, in the corner to the right of the door. 4. Q: Do the new cages need all four sides? A: NO. They only need the sides required to fit them into the floor plan. 5. Q: How many of the existing cages need backs? A: 12. (STATEMENT OF WORK) LOCATION: Bldg 178 SCOPE: 1. Remove the existing 66 steel mesh cages (8?H x 6?D x 8?W) with sliding, lockable door in building 178. All cages in bldg 178 must be removed by 31 Dec 06 (Work may begin 20 Nov 06.) 2. Reinstall the 66 cages in bldg 164 IAW with floor plan design (attached floorplan); this work will include welding cages back together, touch-up paint, and affixing to concrete floor. 3. Fabricate an additional 20 cages to match the cages removed from bldg 178 and installed in bldg 164. Install these new cages in bldg 164 IAW floorplan. Cages are constructed with steel wire mesh fencing. Fabrication of these cages may begin immediately following award of contract. 4. The contractor will be responsible for storage of these cages until installation in building 164. WORKMANSHIP: All workmanship shall comply with standards and practices that are common to the trade. The contractor shall ensure the installation meets all North Carolina building codes. Contractor will take necessary steps to move cages. The contractor shall contact the POC when work is to begin and notify the POC when work is completed. CLEAN UP: The contractor is responsible for returning the work site and surrounding area to the condition in which they were found. The Contractor is required to properly dispose of all materials/parts that he moves. NOTE TO CONTRACTOR: All cages must be reinstalled in bldg 164 within 14 days following completion of construction on bldg 164. Estimated completion date of the construction of bldg 164 is Apr 07. Changes and or modifications must have prior approval from the Contracting Officer. NO OZONE DEPLETING MATERIALS WILL BE USED. WARRANTY: The contractor will guarantee all workmanship for a one year from completion of work. The contractor is responsible for any damages caused to government facilities. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (12-SEP-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
