Description

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Acquistion Center, Customs and Border Protection (CBP) intends to negotiate a Sole Source, Firm-Fixed Price, Commercial type contract with Instron Corp., 825 University Avenue, Norwood, MA, in accordance with FAR 6.302. The instrument being procured is an Instron Model 5565 configured for tensile and elongation testing of cord & yarn due to internal quality issues and sample transmission (administratively transferred samples) to and from other CBP Laboratories throughout the country, it is critical for uniformity among our laboratories to have the same manufacturer as our other field laboratories. Multiple awards are not being sought. THIS ANNOUNCEMENT IS THE ONLY SOLICITATION ? QUOTES ARE NOT BEING REQUESTED, AND A WRITTEN SOLICITATION DOCUMENT WILL NOT BE ISSUED. NO OTHER OFFERS WILL BE ACCEPTED AS THIS EQUIPMENT MUST BE THE SAME AS OTHER LABORATORIES WITHIN CBP. THIS PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTION WILL BE WITHIN THE SIMPLIFIED ACQUISITION PROCEDURES OF $25,000.00 TO $100,000.00 OPEN MARKET.
