- The Agency of Health Care Research and Quality (AHRQ), through the Division of Acquisition Management (DAM), Program Support Center (PSC), intends to award a 12 month sole source contract using simplified acquisition procedures to BMJ Publishing, BMA House, Tavistock Square, London, UK. The anticipated date of award is 08/24/2006. The purpose of this project is to review, edit, and manage all aspects of editorial production for a series of papers on patient safety reporting systems. This effort is envisioned as a collaborative effort among AHRQ, its reporting demonstration grantees, and international authors prominent in examining patient safety reporting issues. The contractor shall review articles that focus on system reporting for research conducted in, but not limited to, the United State, United Kingdom Denmark, Holland, Germany, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand. To ensure that the special supplement of articles is both comprehensive and reflects state-of-the-art knowledge, papers will be solicited from both US and international resarchers. In addition to the AHRQ constituencies that have specific needs for the special supplement, the publication will be of considerable interest to broader communities at large both in the United States and internationally, and will serve as a record of the various reporting systems of patient safety. Contractor shall solicit authors and obtain agreements for papers (e.g., content, length, deadlines). Contractor shall serve as point of coordination for submitted papers. Contractor shall conduct peer review of submitted papers. Contractor shall edit, revise typeset, and proofread papers Submit edited, typeset, proofread, camera ready copy of all papers to AHRQ The proposed simplified acquisition is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source Under authority of far 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest by responding to the requirement within 15 days after the date of publication of this notice. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed simplified acquisition based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. No solicitation is available.
