Description

This solicitation is hereby amended as follows: The due date for this solicitation is changed from August 31, 2006 to 12:00 PM local time September 15, 2006. This amendment changes specification for the required Air Bearing Spindle (The 0.1 microradian spec has been changed to 0.3 micro-radians). Specifications: The air bearing spindle is intended to be used for high precision measurements of roundness and cylindricity of small components. Therefore, while the load bearing capacity is not critical, radial, axial and tilt errors are very important. The instrument shall have a radial and axial error motion of under 1 microinch and a tilt error of under 0.3 microradians. In order to determine the angular position, the optical angular encoder shall be integrated into the system. The encoder shall be capable of reading 18000 positions (resolution of 0.02) with a 10X interpolator. The dither at any position shall not be greater than 3 encoder counts. All support electronics and accessories shall be included. The servo-amplifier shall be capable of operating the air-bearing in start-stop mode. All other terms and conditions remain unchanged.
