Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR 12.6 as supplemented with additional information contained in this notice. This procurement is being conducted under Simplified Acquisiton Procedures in accordance with FAR Part 13. This solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through August 2006 the Federal Acquisition Regulation revision,which includes the consolidation of all Federal Acquisition Regulation revision, which includes the consolidation of all Federal Acquisition Circulars through 05-07. This acauisiton is not a small business set-aside and the NAICS code is 339112. This announcement constitutes the formal Request for Quotation(RFQ) and a written solictation will not be issued. The National Institutes of Health Clinical Center Department of Nursing will procure Medix-Smiths Medical Medfusion 3500 Syringe Pumps as a sole source from Medex Inc. Carlsbad,CA 92008. Syringe pump parenteral delivery is a standard of infusion therapy in the Clinical Center. The Medix Smiths-Medical Medfusion 3500 Syringe Pump with PharmGuard Medication Safety Software is found to be only appropriate for the on-going patient protocols at the National Institutes of Health. The syringe infusion pump used in the Clinical Center must be a small, lightweight,single-channeled device appropriate for patients of all ages and all cultural backgrounds who are undergoing surgical procedures.The syringe pump used in the Clinical Center must also comply with JCAHO National Patient Safety Standards. All proposals must be received by September 22,2006.
