- Description
- The Social Security Administration (SSA) plans to issue a solicitation for a competitive 8(a) acquisition for electrical and mechanical maintenance services at SSA's MetroWest Complex located in downtown Baltimore, Maryland. The contractor selected for contract award shall furnish all management, supervision, labor, supplies, materials, equipment, and tools required to perform the required electrical and mechanical maintenance services. SSA anticipates awarding a firm-fixed-price contract for this effort. The period of performance will be for one year (12 months in duration) with two 12-month option periods, if exercised, with an expected start date of September 30, 2006. This requirement will be procured utilizing procedures in the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 12 - Acquisition of Commercial Items, Part 15 - Contracting by Negotiation and Part 19.8 - Contracting with the Small Business Administration (The 8 (a) Program). This is a 100% set-aside for SBA Certified 8(a) small disadvantaged concerns. The solicitation (SSA-RFP-06-1041) will be issued on or about May 12, 2006. Offers from other than SBA Certified 8(a) small disadvantaged business concerns will not be considered. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this acquisition is 238220. The solicitation and any related documents for this procurement will be made available to interested parties through electronic media. The address for downloading via the internet at Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) is http://www.fedbizopps.gov. No paper copies of the solicitation will be available. The GSA form 176 mentioned in the solicitation is available via the internet at www.gsa.gov. A copy of the FD 258, Applicant Fingerprint Card, will be included as a PDF file. It will be given to the awardee after contract award. Potential offerors shall be responsible for monitoring the internet site for release of the solicitation, amendments (if any), and responses to any questions in accordance with the solicitation provision.
