- Description
- This procurement is set aside for Small Business Concerns Only. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) intends to issue a firm fixed price contract. The contract will cover the dockside repairs of NOAA Ship ALBATROSS IV. Provide all labor, material and equipment necessary to perform the following (including, but not limited to): Base Items: Air Compressor Replacement, Anchor Windlass Repairs, Rescue Boat Davit Motor, Gearbox, & Brake Overhaul, Boom Overhaul, Steam Table Replacement, Gantry Hydraulic Motor Overhaul, Galley Cooking Equipment Refurbishment, Main Engine Silencer Inspection, HVAC Sound Trap Installation, Trawl Winch Sheave Trunk Preservation, Trawl Winch Engine PTO Gear Replacement and Ventilation Motors Overhaul. Option Items include but are not limited to: MSD Lift Station Modifications. The performance period is 40 calendar days, with an anticipated start date of November 27, 2006 and completion date of January 5, 2006. Anticipated award date is November 10, 2006. A site visit is scheduled for October 6 2006 at Northeast Marine Support Facility, 166 Water Street, Woods Hole, MA. Appointments and arrangements for inspections can be coordinated with the Port Engineer, Mr. Kenneth Marston at 508-495-2347. The ALBATROSS IV is 187 feet and its home pier in Woods Hole, Massachusetts. This procurement is being issued as a 100% Small Business set-aside in accordance with FAR 52.219-6. The NAICS code is 336611 and the small business size standard is 1,000 employees. This acquisition will be issued as a Request for Proposals (RFP) in accordance with FAR Part 15, Best Value Procedures on or about September 30, 2006 with proposals due thirty days (30) calendar days thereafter. The Government anticipates awarding a contract with non-price factors being significantly more important than price. The RFP will be issued via electronic posting at Federal Business Opportunity (FEDBIZOPPS) web page www.eps.gov. Hard copies of the RFP will not be issued. It is incumbent upon contractors to monitor FEDBIZOPS for the release of the RFP, specification, drawings and all subsequent amendments. The specification will be uploaded via www.eps.gov with the RFP. Prospective bidders who are interested in bidding this acquisition are asked to relay such intent to the below listed Contract Specialist via e-mail. Bidders must be registered with the Central Contractor Registration (CCR) at www.ccr.gov and obtain (and provide with the offer) a DUNs number. All responsible sources may submit a bid which shall be considered by the agency.
