Description
The Department of State desires information leading to a possible procurement of a mobile conveyor 320 kV CMOS technology X-ray system. This system is for inspecting items up to 60" X 60" X 96" in dimensions. The X-ray system will be housed in one standard 20’ Conex-type shipping container. The operator and mechanical systems areas will be contained in the second standard 20’ Conex-type shipping container. The systems will need to be ruggedly designed to withstand frequent worldwide commercial shipment. Technical Specifications: Detector: CMOS linear array 60 inches long Image resolution: 80 micron (0.003") pixels, 6 lp/mm without geometric magnification. Inspectable AWG 40 gage wire size Sensitivity: 2-2T means when using penetrometers can see a void equivalent to 2% of the thickness of the materials being inspected. Source: 320 kV X-ray system: Constant potential x-ray source, 4.5/13 mA (means Milliamperage Dual Spot) Scan speed: 1.5” per second Workstation: Windows XP operating system, 2.4Gbyte HD Pentium 4 file server 10Gbyte HD Pentium 4 Software: A powerful software package will include x-ray image acquisition/ enhancement/ measurement, scan manipulation, and image storage/ export/print Presentation: 21" TFT LCD 4.1 mega-pixel monitor. Images can be magnified 400%, regional contrast-enhancement, colorization, measurement, invert, emboss, edge detail/enhancement, histogram and real-time radiation monitoring are basic tools. Data archiving: CD-ROM, DVD, RAID backup systems. Hard drives will total 1 Terabyte. Images can be saved as .pix, .bmp, .tiff, or Dicom and Video recorder VHS capable Environmental: -40 degrees F to +140 degrees Fahrenheit operating and storage. Containers: X-Ray System The X-Ray system will be contained within a standard 20’x 8’x 8’Conex-type shipping container. Doors will open on both ends. The X-Ray system container will include a full radiation shielded exposure bay that meets the most stringent international radiation safety standards, motorized conveyors and x-ray tube manipulator, and climate controlled heating and cooling components. Operators and Mechanicals The operator and mechanical systems areas will be contained within a standard 20’x 8’x 8’Conex-type shipping container. Doors will open on both ends. The operator and mechanical container bays will include a fully functioning office to accommodate two operators fitted with climate controls and a utility/mechanicals room housing the heating and cooling components as well as two 10 kW generators. Power generation will be housed in the operator/mechanical containers and will have the capability to connect power from the container housing the generator. Operators and Mechanicals Auxiliary Kit In cases when both the operator 14f0 and mechanical containers cannot be shipped to the destination location an auxiliary kit containing power line and communications cables must be shipped in the x-ray container for building power, computer network and video monitoring cables connectivity. Laptop computers mirroring the computers found within the operators and mechanical containers will also be provided in this kit. Office Specs: Three Pentium IV PC’s with 21” flat panel monitors with CD read-write and DVD read-write. (These systems are separate from the system that will operate the X-Ray system). Video monitoring camera System from X-Ray Chamber Conex. Desktop space and chairs for two operators. Cabinet space where possible. Climate controlled heating and cooling. Mechanicals Room Specs: Will house two 10kW generators. Doors will open to the outside. House climate control equipment, heating and cooling separated from the operators office bay by a steel wall and noise dampening materials.
