Description
Quotes for the work described herein must contain prices for the following: (1) IH-Linac with internal quadrupole triplet lenses; (2) IH-Linac without quadrupole lenses (contractor to provide lens parameters); (3) Support Stand for the IH-Linac; and (4) Lead Shielding for the IH-Linac Brookhaven National Laboratory is seeking sources to provide the physics design and analysis, engineering, mechanical and rf design, manufacture, delivery, installation, and testing of an IH Linac to be installed in the new heavy ion preinjector at Brookhaven National Laboratory. The Linac will be in accrodance with the Specification CAD-1187 (which contains the design and performance requiements) and Statement of Work SOW-113553 that will be provided upon requst. This type accelerator is well established and is the most common room temperature structure for the accceleration of heavy ions at our required frequency, providing a reliable resonator. The objective of the resultant contract is to design and manufacture an Interdigital-H (IH) type Linac for the acceleration and focusing of low energy, light and heavy ions. The IH Linac will provide high transmission efficiency of beam, have low transverse emittance growth, and small energy spread of the output beam. The structure will be a single cavity and designed for a fixed output velocity independent of the q/m of the input beam by adjusting the cavity input rf power. Only interested firms who have successfully manufactured a system like the one described herein that is currently in operation and utilizes an operation within a QA system that is in accordance with ISO 9000 are being solicited for this requirement. In addition to providing a firm fixed price to perform this requirment, all interested and capable firms are to provide a list of references to substantiate their technical capability in meeting this requirement. A firm fixed price quote is requested for consideration of the following items: (1) IH-Linac with internal quadrupole triplet lenses; (2) IH-Linac without quadrupole lenses (Supplier to provide lens parameters): (3) Support Stand for the IH-Linac; and (4) Lead Shielding for the IH-Linac. The contract delivery date is 21 months after contract award. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (19-SEP-2006); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
