Description

Sources Sought for firms interested in performing Design-Build Construction projects that will achieve a ?Leeds NC? Silver Certification and an Energy Star Rating. The USDA Forest Service is making a request for firms interested in providing design-build services for numerous future ranger stations, warehouses, fire buildings, hazmat building pads, crew quarters, parking lots, site work and site utilities and other amenities. The project will consist of the complete design and construction of the building(s), parking lot(s), access and interior roads, site work and site utilities, landscaping and site amenities and optional items if the budget allows. The selected firm would be responsible for further design and development and preparation of a complete set of construction drawings, specifications and cost estimate based on the conceptual drawings prepared by the Government. The conceptual design is to be used as a guide, but must be further developed to include complete civil, architectural, structural, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, landscaping and telecommunications designs as applicable and including any additional surveying or site investigation work. All design work must be prepared by registered professionals and approved by the Government prior to onset of construction. Other requirements are: Evaluating Biomass Heating System as part of an Energy Efficient Design, Value Engineering, Energy Star Rating and U.S. Green Building Council?s LEED-NC ?silver? certification.
