Description
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Biovision Technologies, Inc., 80 West Welsh Pool Road, STE 101 N, Exton, PA 19341, pursuant to 41 U.S.C.253(c)(1)--Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This is the only known source familar with NIEHS applications to provide services, components, software upgrade and integration of components for Carl Zeiss Multipurpose Fixed Stage Microscopy workstation that will be received at NIEHS in early November 2006. The components consists of Hamamatsu RORCA-ER-1394 Deep cooling version: C4742-80-12AG firewire absolute cooled CCD camera; Shuttle PC 2100g. MD Athion 64 X 2 Dual-Core 4200; Sutter DG-4/OF Lambda Filter Changer, high performance remote fluorescence light source; Chroma ET series FURA 2 filter set 25 mm, 340 & 380 nm ex; Update for IPLab Windows; and Ratio Plus software extension for analysis of ratiometric data. Components are to be installed and integrated with new Carl Zeiss Multipurpose Fixed Stage Microscopy workstation, including 4 days onsite training of all BioVision installed components and custom macro writing for application specific routines. Any firm believing itself capable of providing these items may respond by submitting a written narrative statement of capability by the due date of this notice to Paula Pier at the above address for consideration by the agency. Response must include detailed technical information and other technical literature demonstrating the ability to meet these requirements. Responses shall also include itemized pricing that is sufficient to make a determination that competition is feasible. If no affirmative responses are received by the due date of this notice to determine whether a qualified source is more advantageous to the Government, an order will be placed with Biovision Technologies, Inc. The NAICS Code/Size is 334516/500EM. This purchase is to be processed using Simplified Acquisition Procedures in conjunction with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items and is not expected to exceed the Simplified Acquisition threshold of $100,000.
