- Description
- The General Services Administration (GSA), Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) intends to issue a solicitation for the Federal Relay Service (FRS) acquisition to replace the current FRS which acts as an intermediary for telecommunications between hearing individuals and individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing, deaf/blind and/or have speech disabilities. The intent of the FRS acquisition is to achieve a domestic and non-domestic telecommunications relay service for Federal employees conducting official Government business and for the general public conducting business with the Federal Government to access Federal information sources with equal communication access. FRS services include Video Relay, Voice/TTY, Speech-to-Speech, Caption Telephone (CapTel), Relay Conference Captioning and Federal Relay Service On-Line. The current FRS contract is with Sprint Communications Company, L.P. The contract ceiling has been increased from $15M to $20M to allow for continued uninterrupted services to federal agencies during the solicitation phase leading to the replacement FRS contract. The Government intends to award multiple firm-fixed-price, indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contracts for a 24-month period with three one-year options to extend the term of the contract. GSA intends to release the Solicitation on or about Wednesday, July 26, 2006. The anticipated date for submission of proposals is 30 days from the date the RFP is issued/posted. It is the offeror’s responsibility to monitor the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website for the release of the solicitation and amendments, if any. Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading a copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any. NOTE: THIS NOTICE MAY HAVE POSTED ON FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (10-JUL-2006).
