Description
Questions (Q) & Answers (A) regarding the tree trimming for overhead utilities. NOTE: This procurement will result in one award. Q1: Access to the power lines? A: The Government will provide access to the utility lines. Q2: Can we leave the equipment on site A: Yes, however, the Government will not be held responsible. The Government will provide laydown area for your equipment. Q3: Copy of sign in sheet? A: Yes - attached Q4: After the contract is awarded, what is the starting date? A: Between 1 to 10 days after contract award. Q5: Who provides access to power lines? Fort Gillem, Fort McPherson, or the contractor performing the service? A: See Q1 Q6: Can small debris underneath the power lines be bush hogged or cut down? A: Yes Q7: When trimming in wooded area can chips be blown into wooded area for a natural look, or do all chips need to be hauled? A: Yes, only in wooded areas where chips can provide a natural look. All other chips will be removed off of the installation. Q8: Is there a preference as to which base is started first, or if so is there a preference as to which lines are to be trimmed first? A: The Fort McPherson Family Housing, then the remainder of Fort McPherson, followed by Fort Gillem. Q9: Did anyone ever check out the line clearance certification? Or does the bidder just have to be in compliance with OSHA standards? A: Individuals and equipment must be in compliance with OSHA standard 1910.269. Q10: How to obtain the attachment marked bid proposals, or is that the bid sheet given at the site meeting? A: The Bid Schedule sheet is on FedBizOps: https://acquisition.army.mil/asfi/attachment_view.cfm?psolicitationnbr=W911SE06R0031 Q11: If awarded the contract is there a specified time limit to complete said work? A: Yes, the period of performance is 45 days per installation, for a total of 90 days.
