- The 42nd Contracting Squadron at Maxwell AFB, AL intends to award a sole source contract to Siemens Government Services, 1881 Campus Commons Dr., Reston VA 20191-1519 for the following item: 0001. Annual Siemens Maitenance Contract for Hipath 4000 Conferencing Telephone System Period for 1Oct06-30Sep07. This is a sole source procurement under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This will be a firm-fixed price contract. If there are any other businesses that can provide the specified publication, they must respond to this notice before 1500hrs (Central Time) on 27Sep06. If no responses are received by the above date, a sole source contract with College Options Foundation will be pursued. SOLE SOURCE JUSTIFICATION For SIEMENS MAINTENANCE CONTACT Purchase Request (Form 9) Number: 1. Description of the supplies and services being acquired: 42 ABW/CP (Command Post) intends to procure service/maintenance contract to perform warranty/repair work: on the SIEMENS communication/dispatch equipment. 42 ABW/CP requires the following services at an estimated price of $25,000. 2. Competitive Situation: SIEMENS is the only company capable of satisfying this requirement, as it retains sole proprietary rights to the operating system/equipment, and is solely responsible for its warranty service. Other service contactors are unable or don?t have the technical expertise with the operating equipment/system to provide immediate response/service. 3. SIEMENS is the only known source capable of satisfying this requirement. 4. Actions taken to preclude future sole source acquisitions: No action can be taken to preclude future sole source acquisitions under the current conditions (proprietary ownership of SIEMENS system). //SIGNED// CONNIE V.
