Description

The Naval Air Systems Command at Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a level of effort, time and materials order to procure detailed written procedures to laser align all CH-46E aircraft hard points, to ensure the aircraft is returned to manufacturing specification alignments during the Depot IMP process. Misalignment of aircraft and engines results in excess wear and vibration, which attributes to reduced reliability and additional repair costs. The procedures developed under this tasking will enable the Depot to identify and repair mounting points that no longer conform to specifications. The proposed order will be awarded on a sole source basis to The Boeing Company, Boeing Helicopters, Ridley Park, PA under Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA), N00019-05-G-0012. The authority permitting other than full and open competition is Title 10, U.S. Code, Section 2304(c) (1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The estimated period of performance for this effort is 1 October 2006 through 31 March 2007. See numbered note 22.
