Description
This project consists of the installation of (3) pre-fab bridges in the Upper North Fork Nooksack drainage. The bridges are Upper Canyon #3170-1.1, Razorhone #3070-1.3 (or 2.0) and Anderson Creek #3071-1.0. One of the two bridges on the Razorhone Road #3070 will be part of this project and other will be done under solicitation R6-MBS-6-30 a concurrent project. The first three sites involve replacment of existing log stringer bridges, and the fourth site is a replacement of two 48'CMPs. Work may include but is not limited to erosion control & resource protection; removal of existing bridges and culverts; riprap; bridge design, fabrication & installation (including footings); minor approach work (including aggregate surfacing). The window for instream work is June 1st to September 30th and anticipated installation of bridges to occur in 2007. ESTIMATED ISSUE DATE OF THE SOLICITATION IS WINTER 2007. ESTIMATED START WORK DATE IS APPROX MARCH 2007. Contract work time is approx 365 days. The Government's estimated price range is between $100,000 and $250,000. Bonding is required for this project. This project is funded by Title II of the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act of 2000 where funds are paid to counties with federal land for use on roads and schools. Offers will be evaluated on the basis of the benefit to the Local Community (in this case, Whatcom County). This evaluation factor is slightly more important than cost or price.
