- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for a commercial service prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. DEMONSTRATION THAT THE CONTRACTOR?S UNIQUE QUALIFICATIONS OR NATURE OF THE ACQUISITION REQUIRES THE USE OF ONLY ONE RESPONSIBLE SOURCE AUTHORITY: Clearcube brand blades have the form, fit, and function required to operate the Clearcube rack systems that the SOJICC uses, and no other blade servers or blade computers will fit in the existing Clearcube racks. Furthermore, Clearcube manufacturers the only blade computers accredited for use in SOJICC and SOCOM supports Clearcube blade computers. Dell workstations are considered the SOCOM (Special Operations Command) standard, and SOCOM does not support any other brand of workstations. Through SOCOM?s Help Desk, the SOJICC Program has access to Dell replenishment spares, and can swap parts/conduct onsite repairs within a matter of hours. Dell is the only brand of workstations accredited by SOCOM. If any other brands of computer blades or workstations are used, the overall life cycle cost (for maintenance, repairs, and training) will be higher due to support complexity and new training requirements (for repairing the equipment).
