Description

The U.S. Army Contracting Agency, Directorate of Contracting, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD intends to negotiate solely (as prescribed in FAR 6.302-1) with Applied Biosystems, North American Sales and Service, 850 Lincoln Centre Drive, Foster City, CA 94404. The contractor shall provide Genetic Analyzer training to the 20th Support Command. This service is for a period of 1 month from the date of award. The 20th Support Command purchased an Applied Biosystems 3130 capillary electrophoresis DNA Analyzer system earlier this year. Applied BioSystems is the only source of this particular analyzer, and thus the only source for the training of our instrument op erators/scientists to maintain the equipment in a theater of war. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is 611430 and the size standard is $6.5 million dollars in average annual receipts over the last three years. Interested persons may identify their interest, in writing, to the Government point of contact. Responses to this notice must be received no later than 12:00 noon, Eastern Daylight Time, September 26th, 2006. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or a solicitation of offers.
