- Description
- The United States Section of the International Boundary and Water Commission (USIBWC) has a requirement for a firm-fixed price contract for the demolition of four (4) metal structures and fencing and the construction of three (3) new buildings, fencing, and a foundation for a prefabricated structure at Anzalduas Dam. The project is located in Mission, Texas. The project site has no physical address; however, the site can be described as south of Conway Avenue in Anzalduas County Park. The Dam sits on USIBWC federally owned property in the United States/Mexico boundary. Anzalduas Dam straddles the Rio Grande with half of the dam located in the Republic of Mexico and the other half in the United States. This project is located wholly in the United States. Major components include: Construction of an administration/shop building with an approximate 2652 square foot footprint. The building shall consist of men’s and women’s bathrooms and showers, office, break room with kitchen, and a shop. The shop shall contain a workbench and an overhead crane. Construction of an auxiliary building that will contain an air compressor room, an oil storage room, and a sand storage room with an approximate 942 square foot footprint. Construction of a general storage building with a 326 square foot footprint. Other elements are new compound perimeter fencing, asphalt paving, extension of underground utilities (water, electric, telephone, cable, and radio communications cable), and the construction of a sanitary sewer system (septic leach field). The work also includes the demolition of four (4) metal structures and fencing. Some elements in the demolished buildings are to be salvaged and installed in the new auxiliary building, more specifically, air compressing equipment and a small overhead hoist and beam. The Contractor shall also demolish asphalt paving, buried electrical conduits, elements of the old potable water system, and sidewalks. A pre-bid conference and site visit will be held. Attendance is highly recommended. Estimated range of construction is between $500,000.00 and $1,000,000.00. Tentative dates for issuing and opening Invitation for Bid (IFB) IBM06B0001 are May 22, 2006 and July 7, 2006, respectively. Contract performance is scheduled at three hundred sixty five (365) calendar days after issuance of Notice to Proceed. Plans will be available for inspection at the International Boundary and Water Commission, U.S. Section, The Commons, Building C, Suite 226, El Paso, Texas 79902. All requests for the bid documents must be in writing. No telephone requests will be accepted. Requests must include business name, point of contact, address, telephone number (include area code) and IFB number. In order to ensure availability of bid documents, it is requested that requests for the bid documents be received by May 17,2006. There will be no charge for the solicitation package. The requirement is 100%set-aside for small business concerns. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code for this requirement is 236220 for Commercial and Institutional Building Construction. The associated size standard is $28.5 million annual average gross receipts for the past three years.
