Description

The Social Security Administration (SSA) intends to negotiate solely with Radio Beacon under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subsection 6.302-1 - Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements - to purchase the Radio Beacon Sales Order by Walking Around (SOBWA) enhanced program that incorporates the Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) for receiving and replenishment. This links the Operation Self-Service Store to Radio Beacon?s Warehouse Management Control System. SOBWA is needed to replace the current standalone point of sale system. Using SOBWA, the supply operation can monitor sales activity in real-time mode ensuring that stacks are replenished in a timely manner. The SOBWA software must be modified to meet the requirements of the store and the RFID process. This system is critical in providing the forms, publications and supplied for the SSA Agency. This software will be installed and in use at the Social Security Administration Supply Building located at 6301 Security Blvd, Baltimore, MD 21235. Radio Beacon is the owner/developer of the Radio Beacon WMCS product and source code. They have sole ownership of the source code for this application. Because they own the source code, Radio Beacon is the only known source capable of providing the required software. Other organizations that believe they are capable of meeting SSA?s requirements are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data. Pricing data may be submitted. This is not a request for proposal and the Government does not intend to pay for information submitted. Requests for copies of a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. Respondents will not be notified of the results of the evaluation of the information received. No contract award will be made on the basis of responses received; however, this information will be used in SSA's assessment of capable sources. Responses to this notice should be submitted within 10 days of this publication and should refer to Radio Beacon. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered.
