- The Great Lakes Acquisition Center (GLAC) intends to negotiate a sole source contract with Cannon Equipment Company, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota, for the purchase of 50 each Security Carts, stock number 83-0626-000, for the Pharmacy Benefits Management Service, located on the Edward Hines Jr., VA Hospital, Hines, Illinois Campus. The subject security carts are an add-on to an existing system, utilized by the Pharmacy Benefits Management Service. The procurement objective is to obtain additional security carts for an existing system, to accommodate expanding service, additional products and additional sites. The new equipment must be compatible and interface with existing security carts and replacement parts. Security Cart requirements are as follows: Solid Sheet Security Cart General Construction: 31"D X 60"W X 60"H Frames Constructed Of Square And Rectangular Steel Welded Tubing And Formed Sheet Steel Rigid Bolted Together Design With All Construction Fasteners Located Inside The Cart To Aid In Preventing Unwanted Access (1) Rigid Base Shelf Constructed Of Steel Square Tubing And Sheet Metal Shelf Surface. (1) Rigid To Closure Constructed Of Formed Sheet Steel. (2) Swivel Casters with 6"X2" Phenolic Wheels 1 with Brake. (2) Rigid Casters With 6"X2" Phenolic Wheels Bright Zinc Electroplated Finish With Lacquer Dip. Special Features: 1 Piece Continuous Hinge Attaches Each Door/Locking Door Handle With Accept Either Padlock Or Truck Door Seal/Right Hand Door Has Solid Skin And Bill Pocket With Top Flap & Clear Plexi-Glass Front/Door Handle Operates Locking Rods Top And Bottom. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with FAR 6.302 - only one responsible source and no other vendor will satisfy agency requirements. NAICS 339999. To the best of our knowledge, Cannon Equipment Company, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota is the only source that provides a security cart, which includes the above indicated items and features. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. No solicitation document is available and telephone requests will not be accepted. However, any firm that believes it can meet these requirements may give written notification to the Contracting Officer within ten (10) calendar days from the date of publication of this synopsis. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail, to demonstrate the ability to comply with the above requirements. Information can be sent to the Contracting Officer, VAMC-GLAC, Building 5, 5000 W. National Ave. Bldg. 5, Milwaukee WI 53295 or via fax to (414) 902-5440. Responses received will be evaluated however; a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the GLAC will proceed with the sole source negotiation with Cannon Equipment Company, of Cannon Falls, Minnesota.
