Description
This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial supply prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6 as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation: proposals are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The United States Army Tank-automotive and Armaments Command-Picatinny Arsenal TACOM-Picatinny), Picatinny Center for Contracting and Commerce (PC3) in support of the Armament, Research, Development, and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is soliciting for the purchase of 315,000 ball bearings from a small business. The bearings must be 3/8" in diameter, grade 100, 440C Stainless Steel. These bearings are being used to build a lot of shoulder fired ammunition. It is recommended that this be a full and open competition with a small business set aside. The delivery of the full quantity will be needed by 23 October 2006. If this is not feasible, then we'd be willing to negotiate a staggered delivery schedule (i.e. first 100,000 by 23 October 2006, second 100,000 by the 30 October 2006, and balance by 6 November 2006). All bearings will be shipped to U.S. Army Aberdeen Test Center, 400 Colleran Rd., Attn: CSTE-DTC-AT-FP-C (Robin Zeto), Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD 21005-5059.
