Description

The Contractor shall furnish all labor, materials and equipment to replace a failing 6' x 18' CMP culvert with a 8' x 45' Girder Style Bridge approximately 200' down stream of the current culvert location (will be marked by NPS). The bridge shall have glulam deck panels and rails of Douglas Fir, completely pressure treated after fabrication with 0.3 Type C Penta per AWPA specifications. Rift Zone Trail is located in West Marin County in the Olema Valley approximately 2,000 LF south of the Bear Valley Trailhead at Point Reyes National Seashore, CA. The trail was severely impacted by heavy rains in January 2006 and its culvert failed. Erosion has accelerated and become a significant impact to the fishery habitat that is adjacent to the road. This project will replace the trail culvert with a bridge that will reduce sediment deposition in the creek. The work is expected to start in late September-early October 2006 and shall be completed within 45 days after receipt of a Notice to Proceed (one week of work to be completed within a 45 day time frame). The estimated project range is between $25,000-$100,000.
