- Description
- The Naval Air Systems Command, Air Combat Electronics Program Office (PMA 209) intends to award a sole-source firm-fixed price purchase order to Systron Donner Inertial Division, 355 Lennon Lane, Walnut Creek, CA 94598-2418 for the procurement of thirteen (13) each Quartz Rate Sensors (QRS), part number QRS100-0100-101. The sensors are required in order to be retrofitted into prototype SBU32/33 Directional Gyros under development in the Legacy Gyro Replacement (LGR) program. Delivery of all 13 units is required by 31 January 2007, but early deliveries will be accepted. The units shall be shipped to the Naval Undersea Warfare Center (NUWC), Keyport, WA. Inspection and acceptance of the supplies to be furnished hereunder shall be performed at the vendor plant in Walnut Creek, CA by the cognizant Administrative Contracting Officer or their duly authorized representative. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority of 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1 (Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements). Systron Donner is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) of the QRS100 and the only firm with the necessary knowledge, data, equipment and experience to perform this effort within the required timeframe. While this notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes, interested parties may submit information that shall be considered by the Naval Air Systems Command.
