Description: The US Department of Agriculture, Agricultural Research Service in Pullman, WA has a requirement for microsatellite and parentage testing of DNA samples for mule deer and white tailed deer. This work involves the use of existing microsatellite markers as well as identification of new ones relevant to the herd they are studying, multiplexing the detection systems (to allow them to look at multiple markers simultaneously), and analyzing the results with the software programs GENEPOP, Kinship, and others as needed. RFQ?s are not available for this requirement. The USDA intends on negotiating with the only known source Veterinary Genetics Laboratory UC Davis, CA.
