- MODIFICATION 04 This is a modification providing questions and answers to the Solicitation Number HSCG23-06-R-ECB018. Questions and answers are below. QUESTIONS & ANSWERS HSCG23-06-R-ECB018 1. QUESTION ? How are the buoys that are shipped out side continental U.S. to be handled, if they are restricted to flat bed loads only as stated in B.9? Do we have to provide a shipping skid? Do we have to provide shipping skids for any buoys shipped? If so to what extent? ANSWER ? The only requirement that the Coast Guard has is that the buoys show up at the required destination on flat bed trucks. For shipments outside the Continental United States, the method of transportation (i.e. shipping container, shipping skid, etc.) is up to the Contractor. If the Contractor ships the buoys in containers, it is the responsibility of the Contractor/Shipping Company to remove the buoys from the containers once they arrive at the port. The buoys should then be placed on a flat bed truck for delivery to the Coast Guard destination. 2. QUESTION ? When shipping the buoys to San Juan, Puerto Rico 00901, Honolulu, HI 96819 and Ketchikan, AK 99901, How will the orders be handled? How will the units be prepared for shipping? If two 8x26 buoys are a lot, will two 9x26 buoys be shipped to these over sea ports? ANSWER ? Buoy shipping Lots are defined in Section B.9 of the solicitation. The Preservation, Packaging and Packing for shipments is detailed in Section D.2 of the solicitation. Whatever method of shipment the Contractor employs to transport the buoys from their facility is up to him/her. The Coast Guard only requires that the buoys show up at the final destination on a flat bed or drop deck trailer (i.e. no containers). END OF QUESTIONS & ANSWERS
