- Description
- The United Statees Coast Guard is considering whether or not to set aside an acquisition for Hubzone Set-Aside or Service-Disabled Veteran ?Owned Small Business. The estimated value of this procurement is between $250,000.00 and $500,000.00. The small business size standard is less than 1,000 employees. The acquisition is for DOCKSIDE repairs to the USCGC CAMPBELL (WMEC-909). The homeport is Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, ME. All work will be performed at the vessel?s homeport. The performance period will be 53 calendar days with a start date of April 2, 2007. The scope of the acquisition is: 1) Renew flight deck coaming; 2) Renew tank plating and framing in clean ballast tank 3-228-1-W; 3) Inspect bulkhead plating in galley; 4) Clean and inspect fuel and oil tanks; 5) Renew bulkhead section in aft fan space; 6) Inspect and renew deck plating in auxiliary machinery space #1; 7) Renew manhole covers and cover studs; 8) Clean and inspect exhaust stacks; 9) Renew main diesel engine exhaust piping insulation; 10) Renew ventilation ductwork in JP-5 Fuel Station; 11) Overhaul ventilation fan assemblies; 12) Overhaul Fuel valve manifolds; 13) Inspect and test air receivers and relief valves; 14) Extend sheathing and insulation in anchor windlass room; 15) Modify laundry space ventilation system; 16) Flush and refill chill water and heat system; 17) Clean, inspect and test hot water accumulator tank and hydro-pneumatic tank; 18) Overhaul steering system hydraulic cylinders; 19) Perform anchor windlass maintenance; 20) Perform warping capstan maintenance; 21) Repair weld crack in sewage tank connection line; 22) Preserve sewage and grey water collection and holding tanks; 23) Refurbish berthing and living spaces; 24) Renew grease interceptor. Provide protective deck covering material. Trained welders who have been certified by the applicable regulatory code performance qualification procedures, shall accomplish all welding and brazing.. At the present time this acquisition is expected to be issued small business set-aside. However, in accordance with FAR 19.1305 and FAR 19.1405, if your firm is and intends to submit an offer on this acquisition, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a quotation for this solicitation as a prime contractor; (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles; dollar amounts, points of contact and phone numbers; (c) Past Performance references with points of contacts and phone numbers. At least two references are requested but more are desirable. Your response is required by October 16, 2006. All of the above must be submitted in sufficient detail for a decision to be made on a Hubzone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside. Failure to submit all information requested may result in an unrestricted acquisition. A decision on whether this acquisition will be pursued as Hubzone Set-Aside, Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business or Small Business Set-Aside or on an unrestricted basis will be posted on the FEDBISOPS website at http://www.eps.gov.
