Description

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Reno, NV has a requirement to design, fabricate and install a fence. The fence will be approximately 375 feet long and eight feet tall. The fence will include a section of approximately 20 feet that will cross the watercourse formed by the runoff of Ash Springs. Project and stream crossing diagrams will be provided. Ash Springs is a popular receation site on BLM land approximately 96 miles north of Las Vegas, on U.S. Highway 93. Private property is directly adjacent to the most heavily used portions of the site. The current barbed wire fence is overwhelmed by the use allowing trespass on the private land. To mitigate the trespass issue and safety issues, the agency wishes to erect a fence along the west and south boundary of the site. The contractor is invited to make recommendations regarding the specifications and design for the fence and/or the panel crossing the stream. All work done will be approved by the COR. There are also special requirements in regards to threatened or endangered fish, and use of equipment or work. Must use Best Management practices and report spill and do immediate clean up. No refueling or maintenance of equipment will occur within 250 feet of open water. Solicitation packages will be available electronically on or about October 5, 2006. Offers will be due on or about October 20, 2006. The North American Industry Classification System number for this solicitation is 332323. The procurement is 100% set-aside for small business.
